About Kimmel Benefits+

Founded by Cindy Kimmel in 2017 as an HR consultancy to help small businesses establish HR systems, Kimmel Benefits+ was inspired by Cindy’s experience as a former corporate Director of Benefits and her clients’ need for more sensible health plan options. In 2019, Cindy began partnering with forward-thinking businesses to provide innovative health plan designs for businesses in Western NC and upstate SC.

Our team provides expert HR guidance and personalized support to ease administrative burdens, ensure compliance, and effectively communicate the benefits of our plans to help businesses excite and retain quality employees.

Cindy Kimmel

Owner & Benefits Advisor

Cindy is a highly experienced Director of Benefits, who has spent most of her career supporting large companies. Since 2019, she has been helping companies identify non-traditional health plan options to achieve long-term healthcare solutions. With expertise in both HR and employee benefits, Cindy is able to bring a high-performance health plan full circle by supporting every essential piece, from plan design to the employee’s experience.

At Kimmel Benefits+, Cindy leads the team with her vision of sustainable growth through establishing solid relationships. She is the primary account manager for self-funded plans and large groups and ensures that clients receive the best possible support and guidance throughout the process. Cindy is a licensed Benefit Advisor with an M.S. in HR from Western Carolina University. She is also a certified HR professional (PHR & SHRM-CP) and sits on the board of the Western NC HR Association.

Samir Masic

Benefits Advisor

Samir is a Benefits Advisor at Kimmel Benefits+ with a diverse background in human resource IT work and public health. He spent a decade as a business analyst and management consultant before pursuing his passion for public health. He led a health project on the Navajo Nation addressing childhood obesity and later conducted a year-long study on the social determinants of health of Spartanburg County’s workforce. These projects fueled Samir’s desire to improve our current healthcare system as a Benefits Advisor.

At Kimmel Benefits+, Samir supports all aspects of the benefits cycle and manages each client’s benefits admin system. He also serves as the account manager for our small groups, providing tailored solutions and high-touch support. Samir is a licensed Benefit Advisor with a B.S. in International Business and Finance from the University of South Carolina, bringing a unique perspective to benefit planning and Administration.
